I love these dishes!

I was looking for something totally different and these are perfect. I was using Fiestaware and just needed a change. The salad plates on this set have almost the same service space as the dinner plate of my Fiestaware without taking up more cabinet space. The mugs have become my go to for my morning coffee. I'm thinking of ordering another set to have service for eight.

Pretty & Doesn't Scratch Easily

After going through a nightmare with a set of Cuisinart dishes that started exhibiting deep and very noticeable scratches after only a week or two of use and only two of us in the house, I had my doubts that the American Atelier would be any better. I am happy to report that I was wrong. Not only are they very attractive, but these don't show a mark on them after several months of daily use. They retain their shine out of the dishwasher and are of far superior quality to Cuisinart dishes. Ours still look brand new. I dinged them one star because the plates are not exactly uniform when stacked, you can see slight variations in the shape and there are some very minor glaze flaws on a couple of the plates. For the price I highly recommend them as an attractive and sturdy every day set of dishes.

Beautiful dishes, poor packing

This is an attractive dish set, but the bowls did not survive the trip. ( I knew from reading the other reviews that I was taking a chance. ) They were apparently packed in China in a not-so- cushioned way. On the plus side, the slightly distressed, bubbly finish on the cups is nice and the “abstract” painting on the plates is artful. You may just have to expect that you’ll need to ask Amazon to replace broken pieces.

classic lines and usefull sizes

My wife enjoys the classic lines and good looks of these plates and bowls. I think they are heavy, and being ceramic, prone to chip as they are being handled. We ordered 16 pieces, and despite very heavy packaging, received 4 broken plates. The company paid a full refund for the set. To recap, excellent packaging and customer service, fragile product w/ classic proportions.

Pieces broke in shipment

I purchased two sets and multiple plates, both dinner and salad, as well as 1 bowl were broken. Don’t know if breakage occurred during original journey from China or from distributor/seller but the final packing had no cushioning between the tightly packaged originator box and the Amazon box. I have not yet been successful in contacting the seller. All that said, I do like the look of the surviving pieces. They have been through dishwasher several times with no issues but can’t speak to long term durability.
